Ericka Hollis is a Doctoral Student in Education Leadership who manages some CASTLE projects in addition to serving as an instructional designer for the College of Education at UK. Ericka came from the University of Georgia where she earned her M.Ed. in Instructional Technology with a concentration in Instructional Design and Development. Ericka has been a Visiting Scholar at Edith Cowan University in Perth, Western Australia and Jönköping University in Jönköping, Sweden in the School of Communications. Ericka has also worked as an instructional design consultant and as an instructional developer in the corporate and private sectors. Ericka has been married for over six years. She, her husband Byron, and dog Humpfree relocated from Augusta, Georgia to the Kentucky area in 2011. They currently live in Winchester, Kentucky. In their spare time, they like to travel in the U.S. and abroad and mentor young adults in the community and in their families.
Ericka’s interests include exploring technologies to reach students with learning and physical disabilities particularly in online and hybrid environments, investigating the impact of mobile technology in higher education, and the integration of technology through professional development for faculty.
Karla Adkins is an undergraduate pursuing degrees in Elementary Education and Business Management as well as an International Business minor. She is interested in school leadership and using business skills to more effectively run a school. She is excited to be working with CASTLE and having an inside look at the innovative ideas currently being researched in the field of education.
